"My mother fell and broke her hip. The once independent 82-year-old woman, whose husband had died 30 years ago, could no longer live alone. I live in Toronto and my mother being in Boca Raton, I was not able to be a daily caregiver and major decision-maker. My immediate obligation was to find an assisted living situation for a woman who had never asked for help from anyone for anything. My mother’s stern attitude magnified the pressure I felt. Given a two-week reprieve when my mother was placed in a nursing home for rehabilitation, I contacted Seniors Helping Seniors, who helped her with an appropriate assisted living at home. This was the first difficult elder care decision I had to make, though it is certainly far from being the last. Thank you SHS, you enriched my mother’s life with your caring providers."

"From the very first time Ed, Paul and Mike met with our father, we were so impressed by one outstanding trait - they listened! They listened as we expressed our needs; they listened to our father as he spoke about the things he enjoyed, just as important, the things he wasn't interested in. Since we began using Seniors Helping Seniors we have found this exceptional team of caregivers to be charming, attentive and flexible to our dad's needs. As our father's situation changed, they made themselves available for a quick response should he need them on dates when they were not originally scheduled. Their warmth and ability to bond with our dad was nothing short of remarkable as from the very beginning he was not keen on having strangers in his home. We would not hesitate to recommend Seniors Helping Seniors to anyone who would like the care of compassionate, caring individuals for their loved ones."

"I live independently in my own home; I have also had a few lifestyle changes including joint replacements. So, I explored personal in-home care support and contacted Seniors Helping Seniors® in-home care services. A plan was quickly put in place for my care a few days a week. I am very fortunate for all the help from my Seniors Helping Seniors® caregiver."

“For many elderlies, the pandemic really sent their feelings of loneliness and isolation right through the roof! No one should have to combat loneliness. Sometimes the only thing you can do is give yourself. I enjoy my Seniors Helping Seniors® client’s stories of their past. Just listening to what they have lived through and hearing their views of the present and the future can be an eye-opening experience. I really enjoy my visits! I hope that my presence is one of their presents for the week. Being a senior myself, the benefits work both ways.”
